Hey Dude! So you had your 1st surgery this week. Momma was scared for you, but you handled it like such a big boy. You got tubes put in your ears on Wednesday Feb 23rd. Your surgery was at 7:20 am, and we had to be there at 5:50. Ouch. That is early for Momma. You were happy though. Didn't seem to bother you that you couldn't eat either. The nurses were so good, and even blew bubbles as they wheeled your bed down the hall toward the OR, so you didn't even notice that we weren't by your side anymore. The doctor came and updated us after about 15 minutes, and about 15 minutes later, you were back in my arms. It actually was probably even a little faster than that. You didn't seem scared, just hungry by that point. We went home, and you wouldn't even know that you had had anything done. You were running around like usual and jabbering up a storm. It was a good thing that you got those tubes though, because DrFarrell said that you had fluid in both ears and he though that you were probably pretty uncomfortable. I hope they help you buddy!!
Also, in the last month, you have started talking up a storm! Some of the new words that you say are: cracker, Byeeeeee ;), nigh nigh, eye, thank you (but it sounds like tie too) :), peeease, shoes (shs), fish (fsh)
You understand so much of what we tell you though. It is funny. Dada and I probably underestimate you. Auntie Kris said that you were helping her with laundry when she babysat you last night. We certainly haven't had any luck with you helping with chores yet. Maybe we need to work on that ;) You also have been pulling me by the hand over to your pantry full of your food. You do this several times a day and usually pick out a snack when I let you, otherwise you fuss at me.
You also have taken an even more interest in books. You have been pulling us in to your book stack and grabbing a book. You make this excited noise and yell "yeah" and then when we sit down, you back your little butt up to us and sit down in our laps so that we can read to you. You don't always let us get through a book, but you love to keep going over to your books and get more and more for us to read. Your favorite books right now are the picture books that we ask you where something is and you point to it. You LOVE those books!
We also turned your carseats around so that you are forward facing. I just thought that you might enjoy riding in the car a little more this way. So far, you don't seem to care too much. You still take your shoes off and sometimes chew on them. This usually results in me saying, "Levi, leave your shoes ON!!".
You're starting to like more and more cartoon tv shows. You are taking a liking to Thomas the Train, Dinosaur Train, Bob the Builder, Yo Gabba Gabba, and The Fresh Beat Band. Most of these are on NickJr. It's pretty much on all day anymore. You don't always pay attention to it, but it's better background noise than Dada's Fox News Channel ;)
You fell at daycare a couple of days ago and split your lip pretty bad. Momma's afraid that it's going to leave a scar. I'm sorry buddy. I think it's because you have to wear shoes inside at daycare and you stumble on them sometimes. I hope you don't look back when you are older and are upset about the scar on your lip. Mama will try to put some scar-fading stuff on it for you :(
Until next time...
Love, Mama
