Your 1st trip to Nana and Papa's

You loved Texas! You turned 10 months old while we were down there, and you met a major milestone! You loved Nana and Papa's pool so much! You squealed with glee and splashed and kicked. It was so much fun for all of us to watch you. You liked the food that they made for us...especially Nana's "tastees". You slept so well in the pack-n-play and you did so good on the ride down and back. You really are a good baby. You make Daddy and I proud every day! We went out to eat a couple of times and you were good there too. Daddy and I even took you to a park to swing and play on the slides. We also walked around the Gaylord Texan. They had an Alice in Wonderland type of display show going on there. I think you liked looking at everything. Of course, you did get thrown out of your 1st bar there too ;)

We toured the Dallas Cowboy's stadium and got to play on the field, see the locker room, see the cheerleaders' locker room and you even tried on a helmet! Dada says that you can pick whatever team you want to follow when you get a bit older. He won't even care if you pick the Cowboys (even though he really doesn't like them at all) :) Your favorite part of the tour by far, was crawling all over the field. You absolutely LOVED the turf. You were sort of fascinated by it. It must have felt different to you than grass does, but not quite like carpet. It was kind of rubbery. You crawled all over the field and Dada and I even had you crawl and walk across the goal line ;)

Speaking of walking...you took your 1st independent steps at Nana and Papa's!! Nana was so excited to be a part of it and we even got it on video. In the last few days since then, you have really taken off and want to walk without help all the time. You only want us to hold your left hand if you will let us hold your hand at all to walk. Dada thinks you are going to be left-handed. I'm not so keen on that idea, but Dada think it would make you a good pitcher or something ;)

We also spent a couple of days at a little waterpark near Nana and Papa's house. We will probably go there every year now. It was great! You had soooo much fun playing in the water and watching all of the other kids. There were sprinklers everywhere and you wanted to crawl and walk to see all of them. It had plenty of shade to protect your skin and even though it was super hot out, the water kept us all cool.

I can't wait to go back to TX with you again. It will be interesting to see how much you change from visit to visit, but this one will always be extra special because it was your 1st time there and it was the 1st time that you walked! :)

I will post some pictures later...

Love, Mama
